FINALLY!

I'm back! From where? From not being inspired and motivated to stamp. How can that be? That is a question I ask myself too. Well,...
Anyway, I have been playing with this card for a number of hours. I do not know what this type of card (fold) is called, but for lack of inspiration I will call it the 4-way card. If you have a name for it please tell me. I saw it at a card class I took, quite awhile ago. It was not the card we made at the class, but I looked at it and later figured out on my own how to put it together. I love how you can display it in different ways. So here are 4 pictures of this card.

The first 2 images are the front and back when card is closed. The bottom 2 are the open images of when the card is open, which is done by pulling it on the sides for which I have added the ribbon.

Supplies used:

Paper: SU Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White

Stamps: Simply Said, Small Script, Around the Block, Wonderful Words, Seaside Sketches (1 sentiment)

Techniques: Embossing, Doodling, Sponging

Accessories: Versamark, Crystal Effects, Ribbon, Brad, Pop-up dots

I added some flowers in Marigold Morning to add a little punch of color. Not sure if I am completely happy with it.

So now I have to go and clean all the stamps I used.

I am thinking of having some BLOG SNACKS soon. Keep checking!!

EASY ELEGANCE

HAPPY SPRING! Aren't you all happy that it is finally officially spring? Not that it felt like it. It was quite a gloomy rainy day, but according to the calendar it is spring. So I will go with it.

I had a hard time getting motivated to stamp today, but I came across this cool layout on http://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/ this blog, and went with it. I really like the final result too.

Supplies I used:

Paper: Provocraft (I found lying around), Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White

Stamps: Easy Elegance, Delight in Life

Accesories: Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Brads, Ribbon.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING!

COLOR CHALLENGED?

So today is the day I decided to do a Color Challenge on SCS http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234011. Colors for today: Really Rust, Brocade Blue and Marigold Morning

Why today? Well, my daugther Melanie went on a playdate to her friend's house, so my daughter Vanessa wanted me to do something with her. So, I thought we could both make cards. She does like doing that. What kind of card should we make? How about trying out the color challenge? Well, I do not have paper or ink in the Rust color, so I had to improvise. I came up with the idea of using my pastels, in which there is the Rust color. I versamarked the Big Blossom stamp (which I have not used yet) on the marigold morning paper and used the poppin' pastels techinique with the rust color. I used the ink Marigold Morning with the crosshatch background on the Brocade Blue as the cardbase.
I am trying to do more of the challenges on SCS, to get more familiar with color combos and layouts.

YEAY! I GOT NEW BATTERIES!!!

So, how was your weekend? I had a great weekend. My hubby surprised me with a dinner out, just the two of us to the 'Top of Vancouver' Restaurant, where he had proposed to me 11 years ago. That was very special! And yesterday we took the kids out bowling, which they absolutely loved!

So, I have tried to do a little stamping. I finished a card and OPPS! I noticed that I had not pierced the sides evenly, so there goes one creation! Here is a card I just finished and took a picture of. I even think I am getting the hang of taking pictures of cards. What do you think?

Supplies used:

I used HAPPY HARMONY Stamp set from the Sellabration sets, (I think this years' sellabration sets were just great), and ALL YEAR CHEAR 1.

CARDSTOCK: Whisper White, Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery

Ink: Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa

Techniques: Piercing, Ripping, Sponging

WHY DO I BLOG?

I think I should write down the reasons for this blog. Probably more for myself than for anybody else. I have not seen my reasons on paper, and I think it will be good for me to see what is all going on in my mind.
Reason to blog:
- to share: ideas, thoughts, projects, life
- to connect: keep in touch with people you know, and meet new people

So, as I enjoy reading other ladies blogs, I think I can do this too. So:
1.- I am a SAHM in which I would say 'Stuck' at home mom. I have not had a vehicle in over a year, so I do not get to go out very often and I am feeling quite lonely. So I thought that this might be a great way to make new friends even when I am at home.
2.- Maybe this is a good place to write my thoughts and ideas, even if it is only to myself. I have not been very active in keeping a journal, so this might inspire me to do so.
3.- I would like to share my crafts. Just like I get inspiration from other stampers, maybe somebody might get inspired by mine.
4.- It might inspire me to DO more stamping. I have been lacking in stamping motivation and thought that this might MAKE me do more projects. (Have not been completely successfull so far)
5.- I also want to share my faith with you ladies. I have felt that I cannot be a good witness to my Lord Jesus Christ, especially if I don't get a chance to talk to anybody. So I am praying that God will lead me in this venture.
6.- I am an introvert and would probably not walk up to you and start sharing. So this is definitely easier for me.
So , welcome to my blog.

GREAT - LITTLE CALENDAR

I had fun making this little calendar with an acrylic picture holder. I have seen this idea from several of the creative ladies on SCS and had to try it. It is a present for my daugther Vanessa's student teacher who is having a birthday next Sunday. I thought it would be nice for Vanessa to have a small present for her.
As I am having trouble with my camera, I was not able to take a picture of it and scanned it, so it definitely looks better IRL.
Items used:
Perfect Plum, Pale Plum cardstock as well as ink. I embossed the flowers with iridescent ice. I used the Delight in Life and itty bitty backgrounds stamp sets.
(Have to work on the camera thing so that I can share my projects better!)

MICHEAL'S $1.50 PICTURE FRAME

As you may have noticed, I like using my stamps and paper for home decor. One of the reasons being that I don't really know how to display my cards. I am not a demonstrator, so I do not have the good excuse of using display boards for my creations.

Supplies used:

Stamps: Easy elegance,

Ink: Regal Rose, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue

Ribbon and some hodgepodge.

I used the "Cracked Glass" technique for the flowers. It is one of my favorite techniques.

Not sure if I should add something? Any suggestions please comment.

DELIGHTFUL

This card is made for SC114 of Splitcoaststampers challenges. I find this is a great place to learn and get inspired. I personally find that I need to see something to be able to make something else. I will probably not make the same thing, but it will help me come up with an idea. I wish I had that creative talent in me. But, I am very thankful for all you creative people who are willing to share your talent with me.
I need to learn how to take good picutres of my cards. This looks a lot better IRL. The card is Barely Banana, but looks like Creamy Caramel? Hmmmm. Any help???

Blank - Simple - Good for whatever you wish

Here is a card I made today. I have been kind of uninspired these last couple of days. I thought that starting this blog would help me be more inspired, but...

This stamp has been calling me for quite awhile. It is my friends stamp and I want to quickly use it before I give it back. Thank you Marnie!! I really like birdhouses.

The stamp is from Stampendous.
The paper is Stampin' Up: Confetti White, Barely Banana and Mellow Moss.
I used my Stampin Pastels with blender pen to color the image.
The background is Stampin' Up: Crosshatch
I attached the image on pop dots and added the ribbon for a punch of color.

I pierced the top and sides.
Will probably add a sentiment to the inside, like a Thank You, or Thinking of You.
Will have something for tomorrow!!

Personal Journal

Hi there,
I hope you all had a great weekend!
Our weekend was good. My friend Kerry http://ehmazingstampers.blogspot.com/and her girls came over on Saturday, which is always special.

Today I want to share with you this journal I made for my dh for Valentine's day. I was having a hard time coming up with a special something for him. You know there is always chocolate, but I believe I LOVE chocolate more than he does, so I had to come up with something original. He has mentioned to me that he is interested in writing his thoughts, ideas, visions, dreams. So I came up with the idea of making him a journal where he can write about anything and everything. I used the SU Spring Flower Paper, some chipboard, hemp and close to cocoa ink.
And he really liked it!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!

S M I L E

Here is my project.

These are wooden letters, cut with a scroll saw by yours truly, painted with acrylic paint. For the front I used the SU Spring Flowers applied to the letters with Mod Podge. I added a couple of embellishments: prima flowers, ribbon, tags.

All together I really like the finished project.

The inspiration for this project came from my LSS. They had a different word as a class project and I thought that I would like to take that class. Later I decided that I don't have to pay them to take a class, I can do this myself. I had wood, a scrollsaw, for the font I just super enlarged a computer font and I have quite a bit of acrylic paint standing around from my decorative painting era. So here you have it. Kind of reminds me of spring, which is almost here according to the calendar, but not according to the weather. I am looking forward to spring and new flowers and new leaves. Just LOVE that season.

Stay with me!

I have to appologize. I want to post a project I made yesterday, and I realize that my camera is not working. Not good! The rechargable batteries do not charge anymore. Hmmm. And this project cannot be scanned, so not a card. So I will keep you in suspense. Hopefully I can post it later today. I am really excited about it.
In the meantime I do need to make some birthday cards. Will work on that today.
Have a great day!!!

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!

I am starting a blog today! WOW! It is something I have been thinking about for awhile, but had not done, as it is stepping out of my comfort zone.
I LOVE crafting. And I am IN-LOVE with stamping because you can make beautiful projects in a little time. I would like to share my projects with you. I also want to share some of my life with you: my thoughts, life, ideas, dreams...
The name for my blog is a name that I picked out years ago for a craft-tea room I was dreaming of having, which has not happened. So I would LOVE for you to sit down with your tea (more so coffee for me) and share. I am looking forward to reading your comments.
